E-Invoicing for Logistics & Delivery Companies in the UAE: Dates, Thresholds, Penalties
Most delivery companies go live on 1 July 2027. Fleets with revenue of AED 50 million or more go live on 1 January 2027. Both route invoices through an Accredited Service Provider on the Peppol network.
The Dates That Apply to Your Fleet
Revenue below AED 50 million: appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 31 March 2027, go live 1 July 2027. Revenue of AED 50 million or more: appoint by 30 October 2026, go live 1 January 2027. A voluntary pilot opens 1 July 2026.
The administrative penalty is AED 5,000 per month, not per invoice. Delivery volume does not multiply it. The exposure is the go-live date, not the count.
What E-Invoicing Means for Logistics
Your system stops producing PDFs and starts producing structured invoice data in the PINT AE format. An Accredited Service Provider exchanges that data over the Peppol network. Nothing is transmitted from your depot or your POS straight to FTA servers, and a PDF is not an e-invoice.
What Changes:
Each invoice must be PINT AE structured data. An emailed PDF does not count.
Your logistics or dispatch software must hand invoice data to your Accredited Service Provider, not to the FTA.
Logistics-Specific Challenges
1. High Transaction Volume
Delivery businesses issue invoices in bulk. Every one has to validate against PINT AE before your ASP will transmit it, so a field your dispatch system leaves blank becomes a rejection at scale. Test throughput in the voluntary pilot from 1 July 2026, not in your live month.
2. Variable Pricing
Fuel surcharges, distance-based pricing and express fees each need their own line on the e-invoice, with the correct VAT treatment on each.
Check Your Fleet System Against PINT AE
We map your dispatch and invoicing stack to the PINT AE fields and shortlist Accredited Service Providers. Below AED 50 million revenue, your ASP appointment deadline is 31 March 2027.
Schedule ConsultationFrequently Asked Questions
Do delivery companies need e-invoicing in UAE?
Yes. Invoices go through an Accredited Service Provider on the Peppol network using the PINT AE standard, not straight to FTA servers. Below AED 50 million revenue, appoint an ASP by 31 March 2027 and go live 1 July 2027. At AED 50 million or above, appoint by 30 October 2026 and go live 1 January 2027. Government entities appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live 1 October 2027. The voluntary pilot opens 1 July 2026.
What is the penalty for e-invoicing non-compliance?
AED 5,000 per month, not per invoice. Your delivery count does not multiply the figure.
Does a PDF invoice count as an e-invoice?
No. A PDF is not an e-invoice. The invoice must be structured data in the PINT AE format, exchanged over Peppol through an Accredited Service Provider.
